Bodies and Participants

The Citizen Dialogue is based on the following bodies:

  • The Citizen Assembly: During these assemblies, topics are discussed, and policy recommendations formulated. The Citizen Assembly is composed of 25 to 50 randomly selected citizens;
  • The Citizen Council: Its role is to prepare, organise and follow-up the Citizen Assembly as well as to monitor the implementation of the Citizen Assembly’s policy recommendations. It is composed of 24 citizens; ideally, these people already have participated in a previous Citizen Assembly;
  • The Permanent Secretary: The secretary belongs to the staff of the parliamentary administration. He/she takes on the daily management of the whole Citizen Dialogue.
  • The Parliament and the government of the German-speaking Community.
